Hmmmm....what to say about this one? It's good and well thought out to be sure. But I didn't feel completely enveloped by the story. Something was missing. Yet I can't honestly say what it was. I know I didn't have an emotional connection to the story so maybe that was it.The setting was fabulous and I loved it. But here's the thing. I feel like the author was trying to push his political and environmental beliefs on us. Which I kind of have a problem with. I'm a liberal and I still think he went too far. But then the setting wouldn't have been what it was so it's kind of a catch 22.I definitely want to read the next book in the series, but I'm not in a hurry to do so. The reason why it got 4 stars and not 3 was because I really enjoyed the concept of Atherton itself. I think he could've even gone into more detail. I thought the Highlands could have been described better.
