I hate to not finish books, so I try to read as far as I can before giving the book up. Fortunately, I don't have a lot of negative things to say about this one, it's more like it's not you, it's me. It just didn't maintain my interest. Not the author's fault. It just wasn't about a subject I cared about. The writing was beautiful and it definitely gave off a sort of breezy, airy feeling. The plot moved pretty slow, almost to the point where it felt like there wasn't really a plot at all. I've just learned that Alice Hoffman's writing is not for me. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't read it. A lot of readers like her novels. It just wasn't for me. :(
