The Stone Child

The Stone Child - Dan Poblocki Thank God I'm finally finished. It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't good. I feel very blah about it. I feel like it had so much potential that it never quite reached. It was a very on the surface story, like a tale you would tell around a campfire, lacking in depth. Sure there were interesting monsters and a creepy book and kids solving a mystery, but it just fell flat. The author has no shortage of interesting ideas(he has a great imagination), but it just didn't translate well onto the page. The setting could have been creepier, the monsters scarier, etc. A soon as I finish writing this review, I have a feeling I will forget this novel as it's not particularly memorable in any way. There it goes already....
