Edit: I have been assured by another reader who finished that the book does not end up being as shallow as the beginning was. That's good and I am so glad. I still can't continue though as I was bored and strongly disliked the writing. :(DNF. So wait. In order for Becky to stay the most beautiful woman in the world, she has to fall in love and get married in less than a year? What kind of message is this book SENDING? That the only thing that matters is being married and being a wife to a man? Hello, patriarchal society!! BARF. Okay, so I DNFed at page 55 and it is very possible that things could change which is why I am not rating it, but that was enough for me as I was planning on quitting anyway.I don't like the writing. Like at all. Most of the dialogue is ridiculous and the swearing feels forced. It's actually kind of boring as well. It's incredibly long-winded and it takes 55 pages for anything major to happen. The first 55 pages could have been whittled down to 20 and it would have been more exciting. I feel you have to have a tremendous amount of patience to stick with this one. I do not. And again. it feels extremely shallow.I'm pretty pissed as I was looking forward to this book a lot. UGH.
