Audrey, Wait!

Audrey, Wait! - Robin Benway Goodreads Summary:The wait is over for the paperback of this irresistible, fast-paced, hit-worthy debut! When funny, charming, absolutely-normal Audrey Cuttler dumps her boyfriend Evan, he writes a song about her that becomes a number-one hit—and rockets Audrey to stardom!Suddenly, tabloid paparazzi are on her tail and Audrey can barely hang with her friends at concerts or the movies without getting mobbed—let alone score a date with James, her adorable coworker at the Scooper Dooper. Her life will never be the same—at least, not until Audrey confronts Evan live on MTV and lets the world know exactly who she is!Review:I'm going to quickly review this one because I am super tired and there really isn't a whole lot to say. Basically, this was a really fun contemporary read. It was light and fluffy and had all the proper story elements to put you in a good mood. An awkward teenage romance, a cute girl that ends up finding herself in the end, and a whole lot of music. Each chapter is headed up by a song title from a band. I liked this and I'm glad I own this book because I want to go back and listen to these songs at some point. I only knew a few of them too. Surprising.I love, love, loved Audrey's dad. He was amazing. Definitely my favorite character. He was sweet, funny, quirky, and just pretty much perfect. It's nice to see a YA contemporary novel where the parents aren't portrayed as a**holes for once. Audrey had enough problems without piling dysfunctional parents on top of everything.I need to reed more music related fiction. I thought it was great. I read it straight through and finished it in a few hours. It was a quick read and yes, it really was that fun.
